The main Bangkok  freelance pick-up joints are:

If you want to meet a Thai lady then go to any of the bars and pubs or nightclubs, massage shops in Bangkok. Theres so many to choose from for us to list.

1/. The German beer garden in Sukhumvit soi 7, open from 8am till 2am and many foreigners go there. Open early lots of freelance Thai girls go there and a popular watering hole for the incoming expats. The Beer Garden has had a facelift and now they have an upstairs as well but has good meals and the beers are approx 70baht a small botle. Well run and I have never seen a problem in here in the 12 years we drink there.

 2/. Thermae, under the Ruamchit Hotel near Sukhumvit soi 15, Opens late from around 8pm  late-- but best go there around 10-12pm. Another late noight closer till2am but who knows what will happen when the new PP Party gets in if they carry out the same policies of early closing like the last Govt???? wait and see. Just a bar really except you can stand behind the bar to be served by some really old bar tenders. Its Ok and many girls go there. Music by stereo.

3/. Angels disco in Nana Hotel, Sukhumvit soi 4, approx. 11pm to 2am and costs 250 baht to go in and lots of girls here and of course you have the Goilden bar which is the open Bar outside the Nana Hotel. Once the Nana complex closes or before the disco is swinging so you can book into the Nana Hotel and you are right on the doorstep of both the disco and the Nana Plaza.

4/. The King's Lounge discotheque in Patpong, from around 10pm onwards but theres many bars in Patpong and pubs to choose from. However avoid the upstairs bars as they have been reknown to hook you for excessive drink bille and when paying tell them you have given them 1000baht note as sometimes also the staff will say you didn't give them enough. Unless you have plenty of money do not give lady drinks as these can cost you up to 250baht per drink.

5/. Country Road, On the corner right at the entrance to Soi Cowboy on Sukhumvit soi 21, 9pm to 2am. Good country rock with Buffalo Bob and his band playing everything from Santana to Eagles oldies. If youre in your 50s then this is the place for you and if you have a singing background then they wil let you sing on stage. Drinks are around 80-100baht a pop but its worth a look if youre sick of the gogo action in the Soi (street).

6/. Grace Hotel, Soi 3 Sukhumvit Rd outside on the pavement, 10pm to 2am and after with also the odd russian girls freelancing but is full of Arabs but they have great kebabs etc

6/. Bamboo Beer Bar across the road from the Grace Hotel in Soi 3 hums these days and they have a good rock band and it now gets crowded. The last time we visited late in 2007 the drinks were overpriced and you had to pay 100baht just for a coke. A bottle look at 150baht and cocktails 200baht so go there late after 11am as theres nothing there otherwise. I think they stacked the prices up when the band plays but not worth going there before 11pm. In fact we thought it was a rip off.

7/. Novatel Hotel: Vibrations Disco (mixed mainstream and freelancers and Russians ) under the Novotel Hotel in Siam Square, approx. 10pm to 2am. Its pretty pricey on the drinks but then most bars and nighclubs are. But thats why the call it "one night in Bangkok"........................... . The entrance fee varies from 500 baht to 650 baht but that allows you one drink. However the band is unreal and theres plenty of high class talent there whatever you want. The Novatel is run well and drinks can go up to 250 baht each but its worth a look.

 8/. Spasso, under under the Erawan Hotel, has some "hi-class" freelancers in the mix, 7pm to 2am
